Netherlands, that defends the title conquered in the last 4 editions and 19 times altogether, had no obstacles playing on the diamond in Viladecans, defeating Austria with 0-22, in a match with a difference of more than 20 runs, finished by the end of the 5th inning. The match was a like a training session for the Dutch that, already in the first inning got an advantage of 8 runs to 0, scoreboard that, inning by inning was increased. Rogearvin Bernadina starred in the only home run during his second time at the bat. In the 2nd inning the Dutch increased their advantage with 4 new runs.
