defeated by 5 to 4 the Ukrainians that made the Spanish team suffer.
The reaction of Jake Molina’s team, in an spectacular and hoped for
8th inning turned things back to normal.
In the 3rd
inning things didn’t go well for Spain that, with Miguel A. Rizo on
the mount, allowed Ukraine to score (0-4).
Spain didn’t react and only decreased the difference by the end of
the 5th “inning that ended with a tight 4 to 1, whit only
4 innings left. In the next rounds, the scoreboards didn’t move and
the public started to become nervous.
However,
the reaction did arrive. An the bottom of the 8th inning,
Spain filled its bases and Nestor Pérez, with a base on balls,
allowed Jose L. Riera to score (4-2) and then did the winning scores
arrive.
Denys Navarro, one hit; Daniel Figueroa made a sacrifice fly to
equalize the match (4-4). The decisive run arrived with Alejandro
Freire on the box and the bases loaded again. A ball that hit the
body of the Spanish batter made him score to first base with a run
