Great Britain achieves its 2nd victory and becomes one of the favorites.

Great Britain defeated Russia by 7-10, thus becoming one of the favorites in the European Baseball Championship and stands out as one of the Continent’s best.

Great Britain’s manager strengthened the offence in the short field with Brant Ust and first base Ian Young with 3 RBI’s to help defeat Russia, for the 2nd time in this Championship.

Great Britain soon scored 6 in the 2nd inning where Ian Young scored a home run, with 2 men on the bases. In the beginning of the 7th inning Brant Ust also made another hit that went over the fence.

The Russian defense failed in the crucial moments and made up to 4 errors which helped Great Britain avoid the Russians from coming back though the team did react in the 8th inning with 3 scores and another in the 9th. Best Russian offender was Viacheslav Vasiliev, that achieved a double.

The winning pitcher was Sam Whitehead who, in 3 winnings, tolerated 3 runs. Losing pitcher was Russian starter Pavel Akishev.
