SPAIN 4 - RUSSIA 0

PREVIA

Spain didn’t disappoint and defeated Russia with hopes alive for the match against Italia

Spain defeated by 4 runs to 0 a Russia, showing to be superior in the 3rd inning and confirming victory on the 7th. The match on Tuesday, against Italy, will decide who will be among the first 3 in the group and continue to the final rounds.

The Spanish victory was helped by the outstanding role of Yoel Hernández, who proved to be very efficient on the mound and made it impossible for his batting rivals to score.

Hernández used his repertoire and his pitches dominated the Russian attack. In the 9 innings that he stayed on the mound he only allowed 3 hits, 2 base on balls and eliminated 10 rivals from the catcher’s box. The Spanish attack also replied with 8 hits.

Spain started to take over the scoreboard in the 3rd inning with 2 scores though the tranquillity didn’t arrive until the 7th and then some distance was added to what would become the final score: 4-0. The two scored runs were a result of the errors made by the Russian pitcher, Alexander Sisyuk, who allowed for 2 bases on balls with the bases loaded.

The locals showed off in the attacker Alejandro Freire, who hit 3-2 with a double and Daniel Martínez and Dewis Navarro.
