Germany suffered but did defeat Croatia (8-7)

Germany didn’t have a good time but did win by a very tight difference, 8-7, over Croatia that in the last part of the match was ahead on the scoreboard and made the Germans work hard. The German team had to make changes on the mound in order to avoid the difference on the scoreboard to increase.

Croatia, contrary to the predictions, started out scoring from the very beginning, with a hit by Ivan Racic that allowed for 2 runs (0-2) that the Germans didn’t neutralize until the 4^th inning.

With the tie Germany proved to be more efficient in the attack and thanks to that the team scored 4 runs that turned the result on the scoreboard around: 6-2.

Germany thought that the work was already done, but Croatia did not give up.

The 8^th inning was more spectacular and decisive. In their turn for attack Croatia scored 5 runs that left Germany behind: 6-7. The Germans, however, reacted and with 2 scores in the same inning sentenced the match as their 3^rd victory. So Germany is still, like Netherlands, on the top of Group A.
