France, that defended the leadership of group B in the European Baseball Championship, that is taking place in Spain -Barcelona, Viladecans and Sant Boi-, lost 3-4 to Great Britain, in a match during the 5th day of the continental competition. This result meant ended to the strong French advantage.

Great Britain, in the 1st inning, opened up the scoreboard with 23 runs thanks to French pitcher Anthony Piquet. France reduced the difference with 1 run in the 2nd and the 5th inning thanks to the home runs by Florian Peyrichou and Jerome Rousseau.

The tie that the French hoped for arrived in the 7th inning but Great Britain reacted fast and scored a decisive run in the 8th when batter Alex Malihoudis connected hit with the bases loaded.
