Sweden, against all previsions, Suecia, defeated the Czech Republic by 1 to 2 in a match where the coach’s Nordic pacience and his timely changes received a worthy reply in a pitching duel that, until the 9th inning was dominated by their rivals. (1-0). Everything seemed to show that the Czech Republic would count a 3rd victory, but it finally did not happen. In the last ining, with 2 men on bases, the Swedish coach changed his player on the 2nd and this was the beginning of an unexpected upwards movement. From the Czech dugout, with desperation, there was a try to stop the Swedish offence with changes on the mound and, afterwards, introducing new batters in the box, but the Swedish pitcher,.Rickard Reimer, who conveniently entered in the last round, maintained a result that very few had expected. |
