Eurobaseball’07 (qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games Beijing 2008) will be held from 7th-16th of September (link to schedule) hosted by the cities of Barcelona, Viladecans and Sant Boi is looking for the active collaboration of the baseball family in order to offer a good competition.
For this reason we would like to have you on board by filling the form and sending it to the Organising Committee before 15th of June, either by email (voluntarios@eurobaseball2007.com) or by fax +34 93 425 00 80, and you could participate in and enjoy this Championship.
All the applications received will be reviewed and answered. You will received a notification to attend the training sessions beginning July 1st.
Please, before filling in the form, read the different tasks’ description for the event:
VOLUNTEERS POSITIONS
- SPORTS ORGANISATION
o Bat boys § Dugout assistance for national teams during pre-game and match. Their tasks will be to pick up bats, helmets and other team equipment during the match and keep it well placed in the dugout. We are looking for childs between 13-16 years old.
o Playing Field Assistants § Locate equipment for Batting Practice sessions before the match. (e.g. bating cage, screens, protections, etc) We are looking for young people age 17 years old ( about).
o Scoreboard § Scoreboard control during the match. Following the instructions of scorers, in case of doubtful plays.
o Speaker § Public address sound system during the match announcing lineups, changes or any other information relevant to the game. Good English comprehension and speaking required
o Competition control § Statistics and standings: people with baseball knowledge, capable of reading correctly an official scoresheet and able to create and update spreadsheets in order to provide official rapports and standings during the competition.
§ “Play by play”: In charge of inputing information into the live 'play by play' service at the Championship's website. Advanced user in computer applications and baseball knowledge.
§ “Runners”: Responsable for delivering information from the Organisation Office to the rest of the “clients”... Press, scouts, VIPs, scorers, umpires, Technical Comission, etc.
- GENERAL CONTROL
o Ticket office § In charge of ticket sales in different matches and validating them.
o Access control (at different locations within the venue)
§ Control the acces in venue spaces only allowing the entrance to accreditated people entitled to the specific areas. (VIP area, scouts area, playing field). They will also provide needed information for the accreditation's codes. Good level of english needed, cheerful and good attitude.
- ORGANISATION ASSISTANTS
o Ecovolunteers § They will inform and encourage spectators about how to create a healthy environment protecting it during the Championship. They will also inform on how to use the different recycle bins situated throughout the venues. Foreign languages highly recommended.
o Scouts assistant § They will be in charge of helping the scouts attending the Championship, delivering lineups, statistics. They will guide them around the venue and provide them with information about the tournament. Good level of English required.
o VIP Area assistant § Same duties as the previous one, but paying attention to authorities, IBAF, CEB, RFEBS, FCBS and other national teams' members. Good level of English required.
o Technical Commission Assistant § Same duties as the previous one, but assigned to the Technical Commisioner in charge of running the match.
o Team Liaison § Assigned to a specific national Team. Their function will be to guide their team from hotel to playing field. They will be the link between the team and the organisation. Highly recommended to speak the same language than the assigned team. Good level of english and conflict resolution skills also recommended.
o Driver § In charge of driving organisation pool cars for transfers between venues and hotel for Technical team or organisation members, before or after the matches. Knowledge of english language prefered. Mandatory car driving license (Spanish or equivalent)
o Ceremonies (opening / closing ) § Different duties including assiting on the field for the parade, helping spectator on the stands, etc. To be confirmed. |
